Chilli con (less) Carne my way, served with Homemade Wholemeal Flat Bread

This recipe is ideal for those who would like to cut down on meat consumption gradually. You can also remove the mince and add more Red Kidney Beans for a

Vegan Dish.




Ingredients:

  • 500 gr Red Kidney Beans ( Dried & Soaked for 24 hours)

  • 1 Onion

  • 1 Green Pepper

  • 1 Garlic Clove

  • Chilli Sauce (add to your liking)

  • 1 tsp Paprika Powder

  • 1 tsp Marjoram

  • Olive Oil

  • 200 gr Mince Beef

  • 4 Fresh Tomatoes

  • 1 tsp Tomato Paste

  • 1 Vegetable Stock Cube

  • 1 Glass Water

Method:

  • Soak the dried Red Kidney Beans for 24 hours (discard the water)

  • Start by frying the onion and garlic until they are soft.

  • Add the green pepper and mince beef and the spices, chilli sauce, and the Red Kidney Beans.

  • Chop the tomatoes and add them to the mix.

  • Add the Veg stock and water

  • Cook until a lot of the water is absorbed or nearly completely absorbed, depending what consistency you want.


Homemade Wholemeal Flat Bread


  • Wholemeal Flour ( I used 500 gr) ( You will make around 12)

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

  • Water

Method:

  • In a large bowl mix all the ingredients above and form a dough

  • Let the dough set for 30 min (Ideally prepare it before)

  • Roll out the dough and cut in circles using a plate. You can do any shape you like.
