Chicken Pie

Ingredients:

  • Egg yolk

  • Butter, cut into chunks

  • Plain flour

  • Water

  • Good pinch of salt

  • Pie filling ingredients

  • Boiled or ready cooked roast chicken ( leftovers are great)

  • Celery

  • Carrots

  • Onions

  • A couple of potatoes

  • Chicken stock

  • A glass of water


Method:

  • Fry onion, celery and carrots add chicken, potatoes, stock and water and.

  • Cook till all water is absorbed.

  • Let it cool down.

  • Prepare the pastry and lay in your chosen buttered oven dish.

  • You can do a big pie, and you can do small pies.

  • Once the filling has cooled down, fill your pies and bake till cooked.

  • To get the golden colour on top, brush pies with a beaten egg and a drop of milk.
